Vice-Rectorate for International Relations

Welcome to the web site of the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations of the University of the Basque Country . Our intention is for you to get to know our services and to assist you with obtaining information about the wide range of opportunities we offer.

Our mission is framed within the objective of stimulating, managing and supporting undertakings targeted at the internationalisation of the UPV/EHU. To this end, we manage official programmes as well as our own programmes, and participate in transnational networks and forums. In addition, we represents and supports undertakings aimed at the dissemination of information and the raising of awareness amongst the university community in the field of international co-operation.

The general structure of the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations as well as the structure of each of the offices that are part of it are shown in the following links:

  • Vice-Rectorate for International Relations

  • International Relations Office (IRO)
    Manages the following mobility programmes: Sicue/Seneca (exchange with Spanish Universities), ERASMUS (studies and placements) , and Bilateral exchange agreements with Latin America (UPV/EHU-América Latina)  and other countries   (United Status, Rusia, Canada, New Zeland and Asia) for students, teaching staff and technical staff. The IRO office is also in charge of managing and supporting the participation in international co-operation projects.

  • Office of Language Courses for Visiting Students
    The Office offers Language Courses (Spanish and Basque) at the three campuses and, in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes, offers training for teachers who will be teaching Spanish as a second language and is in charge of all the information tasks as well as the registration procedures for the DELE exam (only officially accredited qualifications issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry for Education, Social Policies and Sport of the Government of Spain).
